2021 Jocelyn Smith Annual Philosophy Art Prize
The Jocelyn Smith Annual Philosophy Art Prize for 2021 has been cancelled due to COVID restrictions. We will return in 2022.
The Jocelyn Smith Philosophy Art Prize is a new annual art prize honouring the memory of Jocelyn Smith. It is held at the Bay Gallery, Ettalong Beach, NSW.
It is open to all, and prizes are awarded in two categories: 2D artworks (excluding photography) and 3D artworks.
THEME:
Each year will be based on a philosophical theme. The 2020 theme was DEPTH.
PRIZES:
$1,000 for each category.
IMPORTANT DATES:
While the 2020 Jocelyn Smith Philosophy Art Prize was held early in 2020, the 2021 has unfortunately been cancelled due to COVID restrictions. It will resume in 2022 when restrictions have eased. Dates will be added here when they are announced.

Entry for submissions is via website - a link will be provided here when the form is active.
The entry fee for the Jocelyn Smith Philosophy Art Prize is $25 per artwork and is non-refundable. There is no limit to the number of entries an artist may submit.
When submitting your entry you will be asked to pay the fee and to supply the following information per work:

FINALISTS & WINNERS:
Finalists to be exhibited will be announced on this website and contacted via email. They will then be required to deliver their work, at their own expense, to Bay Gallery, Ettalong Beach, on the appropriate delivery days.
Winners of the Jocelyn Smith Philosophy Art Prize will be announced at the official opening reception at Bay Gallery.

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS:
- 2D - Artworks can be in any media, including digital, but excluding photography. The maximum size of 2D artworks is one metre only including the frame in any one direction. The maximum weight is 15 kilograms.
- 3D - The maximum size of 3D artworks is 35cm x 35cm base and 50cm height. The maximum weight of a 3D artwork is 30 kilograms.
